Our Church "Covenant"

Our Church “Covenant”

Bible-believing Congregationalists have used what’s called a church “Covenant” or “agreement” to confess their faith and pledge to serve others within that church. For membership, you would stand before the congregation on a Sunday morning and you agree to serve others as your church family as part of our mission. As you recite this “Covenant,” you’re saying that you believe in Jesus as your Savior, that you will use the Bible to learn about God, that you will support our church’s mission, and that you will use your gifts bless others. We understand that the Lord may call you somewhere else later, but for as long as the Lord has called you to be with us as a congregation, this would be your pledge to the Lord. Here are the words of our church “Covenant”:

We believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and trust in Jesus Christ for our forgiveness and are assured of eternal life! We’re thankful that He died for our sins, rose again, and is with us as our Savior, Shepherd, and Friend. We look to the Scriptures to know God’s heart, learn God’s ways, and to receive God’s encouragement to bless those around us. We will support our church’s mission to lovingly proclaim the gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection to give hope and assurance of forgiveness for now and eternity! We will comfort and encourage each other on our life-journeys as we help each other work through our “thorns” together in our Christian lives. We will purposefully fulfill our callings in life with the Lord’s help, to use our gifts to reach out to one another, to our community, and to the world as we gain a greater sense of meaning and purpose. We will make it our goal to lovingly serve others, build them up, and to help them better see Jesus’ great love.
