Statement of Faith

Statement Through Service

We also offer a statement of Christian faith that lays out our church’s Christian beliefs about the Lord and His Word. As those redeemed by Jesus Christ’s precious blood for our forgiveness, we affirm:

  • The one true, eternal God exists in three eternally distinct persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
  • The Bible, as God’s inspired Word, sufficiently reveals who God is, what He has done for us, and what He asks of us for our good and for our blessing
  • We were conceived in sin and are unable to earn or deserve forgiveness through our desires or good works
  • Jesus Christ is the God-man who was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, and rose again bodily from the dead
  • The Holy Spirit works to regenerate sinful people, allows them–allows us–to see the beauty of the gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and guides us in our lives

  • We’re justified, or declared innocent before God, through trust in Jesus and possess eternal life by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
  • We’re called to live godly lives according to the Scriptures in and through the power of the Holy Spirit and to uphold the Bible’s standard for our lives as we fulfill our callings in life
  • We’re united to all who believe in Jesus and are called to use our gifts to encourage and nurture them as dear brothers and sisters in Christ. We’re also called to love our neighbors and even our enemies, regardless of their religious profession
  • The local church is a sufficient expression of God’s kingdom under Jesus’ Lordship, and no other governing body outside of the local church is necessary for its constitution
  • The sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper are testimonies of God’s marvelous kindness to us through Jesus, and we’re called to receive them for our spiritual nourishment
  • Jesus Christ will one day return bodily to earth and restore all things, and as believers, we will be resurrected and glorified to live with Him forever
